Following is one quick and simple way of ensuring you get paid quicker. A new invoice layout could get payments to you quicker. Well designed invoices rather than stuffy “off the peg” computer stationery will boost payments by your debtors. Here are 7 tips on ensuring you get paid quicker. 1) Use different typefaces, underlining’s and bold text to direct attention to key information. 2) Instead of the innocuous expression “amount due” substitute the more powerful and action oriented phrase “Please pay”. 3) Don’t include ageing date beyond “60 Days”. It’s an open invitation not to pay. 4) Put only the payment address on the invoice. 5) Print all the legal matters and terms and conditions of the accounts on the back of each invoice. 6) Incorporate a final date for despatching cheques. For example:- “Please ensure your cheque is despatched to reach our office by (date)in order to avoid our follow up system.” Check your invoice printing programme and see if you can adjust it with the preceding tips.
