Advertising Ideas......How to write Advertisements that make your Marketing Ideas work effectively.
How do I get advertising ideas???
Firstly….What is advertising?
Advertising is a communication device, the purpose being to inform potential customers about products or services.
Often every major media is used to deliver these messages, including television, radio, movies, magazines, newspapers, billboards and lately video games and the internet.
Advertising is often placed by agencies on behalf of business.
Other guerrilla advertising spots for small business advertising
are grocery carts, airport walkways, bus sides, telephone messages "while on hold".
Even a person carrying a bill board outside your shop.
Advertising Ideas...
All advertising ideas should come from your customer research
and reflect what your prospective customers want to read, see or hear.
Advertisements are usually placed anywhere an audience can easily see or hear the advertisement.
The key issue with advertisements is that they are there to convey a message that hopefully will cause an action to take place.
Sometimes they have long copy (words). Sometimes they can be short and simple.
They may or may not include pictures.
You can do advertising on a budget, even using a celebrity, so long as it is effective and fits in with your advertising and marketing plan.
The key issue is that you get your message across and if you have a small business that it is effective.
By effective advertising, small business usually calls for prospects to telephone or drop in to a shop or office….but at least making contact.
What do you say in advertising?
This is an important question and issue.
The advertisement must firstly have a purpose.(e.g.Price Discount
(Sale), New Product Launch (Educate)).
Next they must be targeted and placed where your target market will read them.
All the above sounds very obvious but it is amazing how often small businesses waste money by placing advertising where their target market will never see it.
The length of message of the advertisement is mostly dictated by the media.
For example the newspaper or similar advertisement would usually have the ability to use plenty of words and pictures; whereas the television or visual media relies on pictures, music and a few words to get the message across.
Knowing what to say in the advertisement also depends on the purpose, the media and the key issue of knowing what your prospects want to read or see about your product or service.
There are also tried and proven layouts for the different types of media.
